Universal Studios Hollywood tickets at a glance
Universal Studios Hollywood is a theme park with rides, shows and a studio tour, and it is a separate place from the Hollywood Boulevard sights. It is also not the same as the Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank. If you are unsure which one you want, read our Warner Bros. Studio Tour guide next to this page.
Three ticket types matter. General Admission gets you in. Universal Express is an admission ticket that adds one skip-the-line use per included ride or show. The Express Add-On adds that line access to an existing admission ticket, but it does not include admission itself.
Prices change by day and season in 2026, so no single price is right for every date. Buying ahead online can be cheaper than buying on the day, though that is not guaranteed. The park can also sell out on busy days. Check the price for your exact date before you plan around any number.

General Admission, Express and Add-On compared
What each ticket includes in 2026.
| Ticket | Park admission | Skip-the-line access | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| General Admission | Yes | None | Visitors who accept standard waits |
| Universal Express | Yes | One use per included ride or show | Busy days and short visits |
| Express Add-On | No | One use per included ride or show | Adding line access to a ticket you already hold |
Express does not cover every attraction. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is excluded from regular Express, so do not count on it for that ride. For most visitors on a single day, Universal Express is the most useful ticket. If you already have General Admission and decide late that you want shorter lines, the add-on is the way to upgrade.
How to choose your ticket
Three questions settle it for most visitors.
When are you going?
Pick the date first, because the price follows the date. The park can sell out on busy days, so buy ahead if your dates are fixed.
How much time do you have?
With one day, Universal Express makes the most of it, because each included ride or show can be entered once through the shorter line. With several days, General Admission is enough.
Who is coming?
Check ages before you pay. The online child price starts at 3 and ends at 9, and the height rule at the window is different. Seasonal areas such as the Super Silly Fun Land Wet Play Area are closed in the cooler months, with a planned reopening on 28 March 2027.
Child tickets, early access and hours
The online child discount applies to ages 3 to 9, and children up to age 2 enter free without a ticket. At the ticket window the rule is different: a General Admission child price applies to children under 122 cm (about 4 feet). These rules do not carry over to every special ticket or pass, so read the conditions of what you buy.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD has a separate early-access add-on. It lets you in 1 hour before the scheduled park opening, and you still need a normal park ticket. No general advance reservation is required for every day visitor, so you can skip this add-on if you do not want it.
The park operates all year, but opening hours change by day and by season. Do not assume a late closing time. Look up the calendar for your date, and check the same calendar for ride closures before you buy.

Getting to Universal Studios Hollywood
By Metro, car or tour.
Metro B Line
The B Line serves the Universal City / Studio City station. A Metro ride costs $1.75, with free transfers within 2 hours. Check the current shuttle or walking connection to the park gate before you go.
By car
Look up the current parking charge on the day, because it changes. Allow extra time on busy days, since the park can be crowded.
Moving inside the park
The upper and lower areas are linked by escalators, which helps with long days and with strollers.

Universal Studios Hollywood tickets: frequently asked questions
Is this the official Universal Studios Hollywood site?
No. This is an independent travel guide with no connection to Universal Studios. You can buy tickets from the park or through the booking links on this page.
How much is a Universal Studios Hollywood ticket in 2026?
Prices vary by day and season, so there is no single price. Look up your date. Buying online ahead of time can be cheaper than buying on the day.
What is the difference between General Admission and Express?
General Admission gets you into the park. Universal Express includes admission plus one skip-the-line use for each included ride or show. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is excluded from regular Express.
Does the Express Add-On include admission?
No. It only adds line access to a ticket that already includes admission.
What do children pay?
Online, ages 3 to 9 get a child price and children up to age 2 are free without a ticket. At the ticket window, the child price applies to children under 122 cm.
Is Universal Studios the same as the Warner Bros. Studio Tour?
No. They are different places. The Warner Bros. Studio Tour is in Burbank and is a guided tour of a working studio, not a theme park.
